Swedish SEPA pioneer Simple match for Bonnier Solutions
During the year, three of Bonnier Solutions' Finnish customers
become SEPA-ready. And more are waiting in line. The Swedish group
is already seeing results in the form of cost savings and fewer
invoice complications. Sebastian Bülow at Bonnier Solutions is now
hoping for legal requirements in other countries.
For Bonnier Solutions' Finnish customers, SEPA was the choice
from the very beginning. As of October 31, 2011, the new format is
a legal requirement in Finland.
- It has been a pleasant journey and we definitely recommend the
format. I hope that it will also be a legal requirement in other
countries since the format minimises a large amount of errors and
provides savings in every process, says Sebastian
Bülow, manager for the SEPA transition for Bonnier
Solutions.
OpusCapita as middleware
During the year Bonnier Solutions has managed to get three
Finnish companies ready - but it is still too early to calculate
the size of the cost savings. Right now this involves a total of
approximately 10,000 supplier invoices per year. And the variation
of errors on invoices is large - some of them even lack bank
information.
-SEPA reduces the maintenance time for everyone. When all of our
Finnish customers are in place we will have around 100,000 supplier
invoices per year, says Sebastian Bülow.
Today, OpusCapita acts as an intermediary for payment files
between Bonnier Solutions and Handelsbanken in Finland. And Bonnier
Solutions has adapted its finance system to SEPA via its system
supplier. But if it had been known from the beginning that
OpusCapita offered file conversion, this would probably have been a
simpler and faster solution.
From LUM to XML
For payments in other currencies than euro, Bonnier Solutions
uses an LUM2-file. After the company had compared what would be
required by the system supplier to adapt the system for other
currencies than the euro by converting the files via OpusCapita,
the choice was obvious.
- In the autumn, OpusCapita will convert the file so it meets SEPA
requirements. OpusCapita understands SEPA, they know what they're
talking about. The cooperation has functioned extremely well and it
is reassuring to cooperate with someone who has already assisted
Finnish companies for several years.
